Milwaukee women are doing cool things.
Cream City Dreams is a podcast shining light on the incredible women of Milwaukee, one dream at a time. But more than that, the podcast is a window to the story behind the dream. Not just WHAT these women do, but WHY and more importantly HOW their dreams began. What lessons did they learn? Who inspired them? What mistakes did they make along the way? And how did they pick themselves up?
No doubt you’ll find inspiration in these stories, and perhaps you’ll even see possibilities for creating your own story.
What’s YOUR Cream City Dream?
How it began …
Shelly and Meagan met on a little league baseball field in 2018. Babies on hips and bags under eyes, they called themselves ‘new old mom friends’ and were immediately smitten. Fast forward two years and together they were leading retreats, meditations and online gatherings for women in and around Milwaukee. Fast forward two more years and the pair found themselves searching for inspiration (this was the middle of the pandemic, after all), and the idea for a podcast was born.
Two years and forty seven guests later, Shelly FOUND her dream job, and is stepped back from the pod to devote more time to her work and her family.
Meagan ~ with some trepidation without her inimitable co-host and friend, but with the determination to continue telling these incredible stories, and with ALL of the lessons learned over the course of four seasons about saying YES and starting before you’re ready ~ is taking the reins for Season 5 and beyond.
Meagan is a writer, podcaster, storyteller, course-creator, retreat facilitator, event organizer and community connector who will never cringe at the word “icebreaker.” In a former life (before kids), she lived in London leading internship and study abroad programs for US universities and then went back to school herself so she could become a school counselor here in Milwaukee, (she has her MA in Counseling from Marquette). She uses that degree with her three kids though always has a dog-eared parenting book on her bedside table, because parenting is HAAAAAAAAARD. When she’s not in her pajamas by 7:30pm, she can be found writing at www.meaganschultz.com. Her work has been published on Brain, Child, Literary Mama, HerStories Project, Sunlight Press, WUWM NPR’s Lake Effect, and in several anthologies.
